Today, a wonderful sophomore Cardette, Alexandra, visited the girls. She told them all about her experiences as a Cardette and how much she loves it. She answered their questions about the school work load, dorms, etc and showed them a video of their spring show from last year. Many of the girls seemed very excited about this new possibility. She and I continued our discussion after the girls went on to their next class, and I discovered some more exciting things about the Cardettes that I didn't previously know. For one, they offer outstanding scholarships that greatly help offset the costs of tuition and as sophomores the scholarship also helps offset their room & board costs! I was really impressed with the amount of money they offered these dancers! Another exciting thing is that they get to travel out of the country every other year- that is so exciting for these young dancers!!
I, of course, will continue to encourage my dancers who have the ability to make Rangerettes to go for it! I want to share my traditions and experiences with my girls- its like being in this super elite dancing sorority & I want my Bailadoras to be my sisters!! But for those girls who want to continue to dance after high school but Rangerettes (for whatever reason) isn't an option for them, I am excited that we learned about a new option today!
I love when my dancers keep dancing after their leave my program, and I hope Alexandra inspired them to do so!!
